Azure Tip: How to quickly find your Azure Subscription ID (GUID)

An Azure Subsciption ID is a 32-digit GUID, which is associated with an Azure Subscription. Most times when you open a new Azure Support Ticket, the support team member may ask you for your Subscription ID. This short post will show how you can quickly find this ID via the Azure portal or by using the Azure Cloud Shell.

Azure Portal

Open a New InPrivate window in Edge (or any other browser) and open the Azure Portal where you Sign in with your Microsoft or enterprise account.

Select All services (or type subscription in the search box) and click on Subscriptions which you can find under the GENERAL field.

A new blade, the Subscriptions pane, will open showing all your subscriptions, select the appropriate one and under the tab SUBSCRIPTION ID your will find the ID you where looking for.

Azure Cloud Shell – Azure PowerShell

Open Cloud Shell directly form the Azure Portal, or go to (logon with your cloud credentials).

To list the subscription ID, subscription name, and tenant ID for all subscriptions that the logged-on account can access, use the Get-AzSubscription cmdlet. When ran, you can find the required subscription ID under the Id tab.

Hope this helps if you ever need to quickly retrieve your Azure Subscription ID.
